The quality still amazes me, considering the following: Taken with a 3MP point-and-shoot, editing limited to resizing, auto-levels and sharpening using "sharpen" (or "sharpen more", can't remember). Back then I thought that was more photoshopping than I'd ever do again.

My first one was this beauty from 7 years ago. I know - level, blurry, grain, size, contrast etc, etc. It fails on so many levels. If I remember correctly it was rejected first time. I shudder to think what the rejected one was like!
Interesting to look back at this image, prompted by this thread. Back in those days of naivete I had misunderstood the main upload page and believed (incorrectly) that the preferred upload size was 1600 pixels wide. That misleadingly worded page still remains after all this time (and a number of comments from me!). Hopefully sometime soon that can be changed.
