Overexposed - Two Rejections?

Hi,

these two pictures were rejected today with the reason "OVEREXPOSED".

I checked both pictures with CS 2 and in my eyes both pictures are okay.

What do you think? Whats the problem?

SA fuselage looks a little overexposed but the NW looks ok to me. Though the back of the NW fuselage is maybe a little.

On my LCD screen both look indeed a little bit overexposed, the SA worse than the NWA.

NW needs a little underexposure, while the SAA needs way more. Play around with Curves or Levels.

As an aside, the fence in the bottom of the frame with the SAA A340 is rather distracting.

I can't find any areas with pure white (255,255,255) which are blown out. So I don't know what to do.

Does anybody has an idea?

Let me start by saying that neither of the images are far off being correct.
The SAA is too bright to my eyes despite what the histogram shows and I would use the level to tone that one down a bit, probably about 0.90 on the centre slider (ie not much)
The NW is even closer to the mark and the only bit that is even close to overexposed is the highlight on the fuselage but darkening would render the shadows too dark.
If I was you I would tone the SAA one down a bit and resubmit and see what the HS think of the NW by an appeal

Look at the top of the fuselage and there is detail held into the white where it was just gone before so, yes it looks better.
The change is subtle but enough to bring it to (more than) acceptable
