HI all,
I'll be on the Greek island of Rhodos for a week of holidays from Oct 21 and am planning to drive to LGRP once or twice and try to shoot some pics there.
With all the scary stories in mind about how much the authorities dislike our hobby in Greece, I thought I'd ask here if someone on here can provide me with some related hints.

Hi!
The local police don't care at all, so they won't be a problem.
But be aware when planes from Israel arrive. El Al-guards for example, will tell you to get out of the airport area asap.

Markus,
Rhodes is excellent for aviation photography. You can simply walk out of the terminal and walk the whole length of the runway. At the end of the runway where the aircraft line up there are many gaps in the fence in which to take pictures. In fact right at the end the fence is so low you can shoot over it. I spent a couple of days in this spot.
Best time to go is in the mornings, anytime between 8am and 3pm when the sun is behind you. I would say wednesdays and thursdays are the busiest days for traffic. Take lots to drink, it gets very hot.
Also while you are on the island it is worth a visit to Rhodes Old Town by night.
