I've got this photo in the queue at the moment:

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/ze341a2a1ered.jpg

I've already had a level rejection as the photo was aligned to the aircraft, rather than the horizon (which I prefered, and it looked "better"). In order to level the horizon, I've had to crop out the wing of the second aircraft.

Is it now acceptable? It was scanned from 35mm film.

Thanks in advance for your feedback,

OPSO1

Quoting Opso1 (Thread starter):

I have not seen your first edit, but I could well imagine that it looked better. I remember that photos with an unlevel horizon are acceptable under certain circumstances, but I guess that may have been only for cockpit shots. So an appeal would probably not help here. Shame, as the photo certainly makes me  drool

With the wing of the second aircraft being clipped, the overall impression is a bit strange, indeed. Could I ask you to post your first attempt here?

Regardless of the outcome - it is another outstanding shot. I'd usually prefer pictures of civil aircraft over military ones, but yours are just great. Keep'em coming!  Smile

I share Toni's wish in wanting your life but for me this version does not quite work.

I have not seen your original but there is something about the empty area in the middle of the frame and the 2nd Tornado escaping off the bottom of the picture.
If I was being really picky, and Opso1 one does with your photos because your normal standard is so high, the basket hitting the top edge is a bit of an issue as well.

Care to share your orginal with us?

Cheers

Chris

Opso1,

if possible, include the 2nd Tornado completely and leave a little more space at the top between the basket and the picture frame. Since you'll then probably get troubles with the picture ratio, you'll also have to show a wider angle on the horizontal axis.

Good luck!

Thierry

Thanks for your feedback so far! these are the two unedited images I have to play with. If I level the horizon, I feel that I loose the impact of the photo. If any of you can help me to get it accepted, that would be great!

Hi , just had a play with both images .

Sadly i cannot come up with anything reasonable due to the horizon being at least 12 degrees off .

Without losing any of the motive /wings/noses etc etc .... sorry i think they will just be one for the collection.

cheers
