Would anybody like to form a group to go spotting at MCO anytime in the near future?

I'm all up for it.

I'm interested.

I shot at the B52 park today and then went to a place along the fence of runway 35R for about 10 minutes before security swooped in to dispense of me ?

I live in MCO... I'd be up for it, however don't expect it to be a long event. Security or Police will shut us down pretty fast.

Sorry to hear that happened but that is the norm at MCO.

Sadly I think a group would be even worse, it would draw a lot more attention. The one and only time I've spotted at MCO has been in that same spot along 35R, I'm guessing you're referring to the Red Lot, and I kept all my gear in the car until it was time to take a picture, and after I was done, I got back in my car. Sad that that is how it has to be done...

I was at the end of Dowden road in some commercial parking lot. I've shot there once before only last time nobody bothered me.

...but yesterday, all I saw was this pig

and then I had to go.

all that being said, I would still like to meet up with some people sometime soon - before the spring semester really kicks into gear. It doesn't even have to be MCO. I'm flexible.

Awesome to see we have a few people interested.

Now we have to work on coordinating this.

Maybe we should wait to see if we get a few more responses? What do you think?

Instant message me through here when you would be free and I'll try to see if we all have a common time. I live about 30 mins from MCO.

Oh ok, I'm not too familiar with MCO because I never go, the only spot I know is the Red Lot.

Good Luck Guys.

I hope you havent forgotten about the epic CookOut Polderbaan, Idle and I had in mind. Show up in a couple cars at the redlot and set up camp. Some Step Ladders, lawn chairs, charcoal grill. Cook up some steaks and burgers along the fence line one fine afternoon with a cooler of cold beers. I'm still down for it.. hell, I'll even bring the beer.

For some reason, I don't think we'd get in trouble for this, just keep an extra steak and beer handy for security and we'd be set.

I'd like to make a reservation for 1.

Hell, if you guys have the balls to try that I'd like to be there for that one. Even if it only lasts 20 minutes, it would be worth it for the story.

While everyone who has talked about having this BBQ at MCO has the required equipment, it's getting us all in the same place at the same time that has proven to be the hard part.

I have been spotting at Sfb the last few days and there are a few good spots that don't draw any attention, I would love to meet up with some of you all at mco soon, could we start a little google group or something of that sort to figure this out?

actually I think MCO/ORL are run by the same authority but not SFB.

Anyone has a shot of the action from the B52 park? I guess that'd be good for takeoffs when using 36R

MCO is definitely shootable, I had this rather sneaky spot to photograph the planes parked at the Signature ramp, though a fence and some bushes so last time I go there and try to focus I didn't even noticed they had installed a pole right in the way on the other side. I'm like wow these people just installed a pole so I couldn't take a photo!

And then I look up and at the top of the pole there's a camera.

I'm down for it. Actually, I met up with some folks for the A380, and we exchanged e-mails. We had a meet a few weeks back, that fizzled (2 people) and 1 person later in the day. I f you want to get on our e-mail list, shoot me an e-mail/message

Dowden Rd? WOW I never knew about that place. I just looked that up on sateliite imagery....interesting.

I really want to...but I can't.....

edit to add:

I'm hoping to add TPA spotters as well, since I live there...clearly the more friendlier of the two airports

Nice to see we have quite a few takers.

Since Ozell has an email list we should try to coordinate something in the next few weeks.

I'm also up for TPA.

Tentative Date- Sunday January 27th.

Please let me know if you are interested in spotting at MCO. Send me an email through here stating what times you will be free. I will try to put all the times together and coordinate a general time so we can all get together. Hopefully the weather will permit some good spotting.

I still think Tampa would be a better idea when it comes to a group. More spots, more possibilities, and stress-free. Sunday is fine, but what about Saturday, because that would be even better for me.

I agree, I don't see MCO is much of a group kinda place.

Here's the thing. I asked people to join our e-mail group, because when it comes to MCO, I don't think its a good idea to put dates on a.net, because GOAA, I am told, moniters this site. But since you did Big grin ........if I'm not to broke when I get back from Chicago, I might be able to get over there. The day before (saturday) might be better, there's more stuff at SFB

I have sent out e-mails, but the fish haven't been biting.  frown  I will try again tonight. Expect an e-mail from me y'all.  hyper
