Hello all,

since I am known for coming more out of the creative sector I came up with this......

FRA's spotter elite lined up for the Airbus A430-600 arrival

http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=416389

http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=416388

The weather was not any different than I expected, crappy as can be.

A couple of days before it was like this

Enjoy

I'm sure an equivalent LHR pic of the field at the end of Myrtle Avenue would be very similar...

...except it would be wetter...

...and there would be more old geezers with bobble hats and flasks of tea.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy (like Mr Dopson)

Bugger I have been spotted!

Funny thing is when the 346 arrived at LHR it was just me, but the rain was still there!

Cheers

Tea doesn't keep well in a flask. I find the milk curdles. I use coffee nowadays.

It's too warm for a bobble hat (20 degrees yesterday!!) in the UK. If you want to 'spot' me I usually wear a green baseball cap with Harbour Air or Seair (both YVR seaplane operators - my cult following).

Perhaps we should start a thread 'what do you wear' so we can recognise other A.Net members?

Vasco - was that taken from the bridge near the AFB?

Finally a quick quiz for US readers mainly - which airline is the A310 in front of Delta new colours??

Hi Vasco

Did you get to shoot the A340-600 yourself or did you give it a miss because of the bad weather??

Gary,

weather was bad and secondly too many people out there. Not that I have a problem with that, I simply thought about creating a little differnt shot rather than having the same shot as 100 others.

Originally I wanted to capture the A346 landing with all the spotters in the front, but due to the bad weather and the reflection of the A346 the A/F screwed up this picture.

Oh welltoo bad.......but you learn new things every day....use MF if you are not sure.

to Steve: yes the picture was taken near the AFB from that little brigde.

Problem with Mrytle Avenue is that it doesn't afford panoramic views of LHR-you'd just get a picture of a load of 'old geezers in bobble hats' as it was so eloquently put!!

I may be an old geezer compared to the average age of A.net users but I some way off the bobble hat and flask stage yet..... Smile/happy/getting dizzy

By the way, these are all the losers on the photo, as the 346 came in on the other runway (25R), so the real elite was some 2,000 ft further down the road...

I know it has nothing to do with aviation but Vasco's wonderful sunset shot made me remember this shot, taken yesterday, handheld going at 80mph on the M25 as I was returning from STN

Who says the M25 is boring?!

Yeah, Yeah, I knew sooner or later someone would comment on my typo.........it was early so what.

The Airbus A430-600 is scheduled to be delivered to the Star Alliance Network in 2058, by that time only one airline will be serving the whole world and the A 430-600 will hold up to 2500 passengers and a casino, gym and a mall.
