I was there a few afternoons in August and I really enjoyed it. I haven't scanned my rolls yet but the slides that I got back are great.
They have a nice public parking area on the west side just south of the old tower and you can get great shots with a 300mm from the parking lot, which hopefully is still open. There was a large field in front of the lot where you could walk a few hundred feet closer if you don't have a 300mm. You can also nail stuff on the easternmost runway from parking lots. There was an Antonov Design Bureau AN-124 on the west side, C130 ops, T-38's taking off, and a lot of Southwest 73's. The largest airliner that I saw was a Delta B757 so be prepared to shoot a lot of 73's, a few 72's and smaller.
