Acceptance Ratio - Am I Missing Something?

Over the past two days I've had 6 out of 6 photos accepted and my acceptance ratio went up by 4%. That's OK, nothing wrong there as you don't know what my acceptance ratio is. But today I've had just one rejected and my ratio has fallen by 2%. I'm not saying there's something going on here - it's probably just the way it works - but that really doesn't sound right. Anyone else experience this? Do I take it as being normal?

Karl

50 pics ago, 4 were accepted and 2 rejected. These were replaced by 6 acceptances so your ratio improved 2 x 2%=4%.

50 pics ago, you had an acceptance. This is now replaced by a rejection so your ratio falls 2%.

The ratio works in a linear fashion. Imagine if you saw a "line" of your last 50 acceptances/rejects, the newest acceptances/rejects push out the oldest. You could have a bunch of acceptances that just push out older acceptances from the calculation and not get any actual boost, for example.

Yep, has been happening to me seemingly forever.

Thanks guys, I understand. I think it's a case of new acceptances pushing out older ones, as I haven't had a rejection for quite some time.

Yes, my last accepted shots didn't raise my acceptance % above 100.  liar
