So How Do You Delete All Your Images?

Hi All
Only have a few images (well over a million hits though) on here.

I am very concerned that my images which I posted solely for others to enjoy are going to be stolen by Demand Media and sold on.

When I tried to delete an image a few weeks ago my request was ignored, so I wonder if anyone can tell me how they can be removed.

Its very sad that an enthusiasts database can be exploited in such a way.

Regards
Philip

Hi Philip

DM will not steal your images. The new TOU is coming and that will keep your images safe, just like they are now.

Please wait for that document. if you still want to delete your images then you can still do so

Somehow I get the impression that some people here open an extra thread just to say that they are going to delete all their pictures from the database...  Yeah sure

Quoting Clickhappy:
If you choose to have your photos deleted they will be deleted.

There are a couple of technical issues to work through.

While both the crew and Demand Media don't want to loose any photographers, many of you need to to what you need to do, and we understand and respect that.

So, hang tight, your photos will be deleted as quickly as possible.

Sorry Whisperjet and others...I was woken up from my a.net slumber by an email to say that our conditions had changed. Obviously like eveyone else I was very unhappy.
Not wishing to read through 300 replies on the other thread, and not receving a retraction of new T&C by email (which would have been appropriate) I thought the best thing to do was ask the simple question.

As I said the only time I tried to delete an image in the past my request was ignored.

Well they certainly intended to, and as I understand the situation, the new ToU do apply to new a.net users ?

It is also strange, there are no instructions anywhere on a.net on how to get your photos deleted !

No, because the new ToU has now been withdrawn.

However, they're going to write new ones and it seems they want to make a distinction between old and new uploaders. Or between old and new uploads, who knows?

Anyway that's not what we want because the site will not attract good new photographers. Unbelievable how DM shoot themselves in the foot.

Then I can quote you on that as a representitive of Anet and DM and hold you liable for any copywright infringment that happens as a result?

Of course you can't Smile

You can hold DM liable when you agree to the new TOU which will state the copyright to your photos stays with you.

As this one is a duplicate it should be deleted. Given the nature of the topic, I'll lock it instead.
