Under what circumstances would I need to get a property release for a photo of an aircraft? Would I need one to upload an image of a commercial/private/military aircraft to this site? What if I want to sell an image either as a print or the rights to use the image?

Some private jet owners are touchy about photographers taking pictures of their aircraft. Other than that no release should be needed to upload pictures to this site.

And as for sales, I know Alaska Airlines doesn't like it but other than that I don't think there's a problem.

I would love to fly a cargo plane full of rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong!

It depends on copyright laws in your country. Generally, if the logo of the aircraft is your primary subject or if the photo was taken from private property (including things like cockpit shots) then it certainly won't hurt to get a property release.

Pictures taken from public property where the logo is not the dominant subject should not require a property release.

Seriously though, if you plan to "go pro" then get a legal opinion.

A property release should not be needed for A.net purposes unless you intend on selling the images, in which case you may need one.
