Hi there,

This is a scan from a slide from the late-seventies:

http://walter2219.fotopic.net/p48612404.html

Assuming that the quality could be brought up to standards for old slide-scans, would the motiv be ok or are there just to many people blocking the view? Any thoughts?

PS: If anybody can tell me the exact date of the Open House at Bitburg AFB (it must have been pre-Dec-1978), it will be much appreciated!

Thanks and regards,

Walter

It would get the motive rejection I am afraid. Its way to overexposed too. It is a great keepsake though.

Hi Walter

As for motive, I think there´s too much non-aircraft space in the image. There is not an aircraft/helo that stands out as the main subject of the image, and the only one that is shown in full is pretty covered by people. Also, find that the two guys approaching are quite distracting. They distract the eye from the overall pic, not only because their faces can clearly be seen, but because of the fact that they are moving towards the camera.
Then, in other issues, I find it quite overexposed, as already said, and the colours are off, as well. Too much of a magenta cast that I can´t say whether it´s normal for a slide-scan or not.

Hope it helps! Big grin

Cheers  Smile

Thank you all for the feedback!

It looks indeed overexposed (a lot of my slides from that collection are this way  Sad ...about 30 years ago, all settings on manual and the white concrete ramp under full sun did not help much...). The old slides from this collection seem to have suffered more (i.e. deteriorated more, certainly in the whites) than others... I will keep it for my personal collection (I have no regs anyhow).

PS: Most of my slide-scan have indeed a magenta cast, and I do my best to edit it correctly, but I am not always successful  Smile

Best regards,

Walter
