I just got the following email from a company and to be honest it sounds a little bit shady. Have any of you had dealings with them or know what the deal is?
I have a considerable aviation archive, is it possible to put the picture from the Bell 222 Helicopter (OY-HIG) into my helicopter picture archive. You still have the copyrights, when we use it, mainly in the internet, we will mark it with the note: “archive Robert Kuehni”. This way it’s easier to protect your copyright, when we publish your picture in the net.
If we use your picture in a print magazine or in a book we will inform you in advance and we will reimburse you within the normal, common rates.
Thank you in advance.
With my best regards

I view this as being a bit of a scam. Person has a photo library that is used by web/print/media outlets. His archive library gets the credit when a photo is used. You get a small fee for effectively handing over all publishing rights to them to do with as they will.
If someone wants to use a photo like this, they should pay big bucks to buy the image rights from you to allow them use it in the way their email describes.
