Hi guys,

i want to go to spotting in AMS during my easter holidays,
i´ll have the possibility to move with a car there.
I just want to know which runways are the best ( where can i get near to the departing and landing planes).
I heard of the Polderbaan or the Kaagbaan but i don't know on which time of the day i have to be there to get good lightconditions (don´t want to have backlit). Also I don't know how to reach the spottingpoints on the runways.
Can anyone please help me?

thanks in advance

Cheers

Hi John

There are a couple of websites out there with good info. Like this one
http://www.schipholspotter.com/

remember the Kaagbaan spot will be closed when you get here so you;re pretty much stuck at the polderbaan (not the worst of place to be stuck at for a photographer) or maybe the aalsmeerbaan.

So

am i right? Morning eastside afternoon west side?
And what's about lenses?
28-105 or 75-300?

Thanks

Yes.

I'd pick the 75-300

Yes... as with any Rwy 18/36.
Around midday the light is pretty bad, certainly for side-ons.

I'd say 75-300, a 737 requires about 105mm for a full frame shot.
If you want side-ons, 75 mm is too much for the largest aircraft, though.
