Hi all
I'm very interested about spotting in Larnaca, due to the huge amounts of Russian traffic that passes in the summer.
However, there's not much information about it to be found on the net or on a.net, so if somebody already visited Larnaca for spotting, please let me know...
I'm very interested in whether there are good photopositions (that means NOT backlighted like most pix on the net) for throughout the day and about any possible problems with the authorities.
Thanx

try this:
elliot.www9.50megs.com/CYPRUS/larnaca.html
If that fails, go to Yahoo and make a search under "spotting at Larnaca" and select the "LARNACA AIRPORT" site.
From my own experience the airport police/security attitude varies from day to day. Different teams are posted from the town office and some seem more knowlegeable and tolerant than others. However, there is actually NO law forbidding you to photograph at LCA. Log movements down discreetly and don't openly use a VHF receiver as this will attract unwanted attention to yourself. If challenged stay polite but don't be intimidated. Ask to speak to the chief of police if things get out of hand. Best place to be hassle free is the beach, but it's only good from mid afternoon onwards with the Sun.
