I traded in my old Olympus 75-150mm zoom + $70 cash for a nice and by the looks of it fairly new Vivitar 80-200mm f4.5 lens. The optics are flawless and multi-coated and the lens appears to be solidly built.

I've heard people say bad things about Vivitar lenses so Im wondering what your opinion on the maker is. BTW, should I expect sharp, contrasty pictures?
