About the aperture of the lens, is it limited to 4.5-5.6, or can I use it at values such as 11 or even more than that?

4.5-5.6 define the lowest f number available across its focal length, you can certainly go up to f 11,12,13,14.................................

Quoting Ag92 (Thread starter):
4.5-5.6

f/4.5-5.6 is the maximum aperture of this lens (i.e. wide open), you can always stop it down further f/7.1, f/8.0..... up to f/32-40(i.e. minimum aperture).

Best regards,

Walter

Thanks for all your replies, so is there any reason why it mentions two apertures rather than one

The maximum aperture varies with focal length. At 100mm the maximum aperture will be f/4.5 and at 400mm the maximum aperture will be f/5.6.

No offense mate,

but I'm thinking, you might want to get your hands on a book about basic photography first, before you spend about 1600 Euros on a lens.

Cheers,
Sebastian
