AIRLINERS.NET CREW PHOTO SCREENER
Hi all,
Well, time to announce my impending move away from Singapore. After having lived in this wonderful country for 5 years, my company has transferred me to Switerland w.e.f. 1 January 2002. I am actually leaving on the night of 25th December!!!
I will be living approximately 40mins from ZRH but hope to get some good photographic time in at a great airport in Europe.
I will miss Changi, it was a great place to be based, but my wife is Singaporean and at least two return trips per annum are in the offing, so I'll be back.

Great, I hope I have the chance to see you in action there one day.
We used to have great pics from ZRH by Pixair but he doesn't upload regularly anymore. I guess he'll begin to upload a little more again because he's updating his site since Nov. 10th.
Hope we'll see more of these:

Andrew,
First of all. I have to say thanks again for your kindness treat when I in Singapore this October.
In Zurich, I sure you can get many nice photos as well. We keep in-sight to enjoy your great shots in the future.
But that is not really good news "personally" . Because there may be a "large" down turning of photo uploads which taken in Singapore. I am very enjoy with your line up shots at 02R/20L and the approach shots at 20R.
Anway, I sincerely wish you to have a happy lift and spotting in Zurich.
We may meet in June there. Because I will go London and Zurich....of course mainly for spotting.

Andy,
i am sure you will miss Singapore (i have been there myself a few years ago on holidays), but on the other hand you will love Zurich. Let us hope that aviation improves in a while and all those airlines which have left ZRH will be back again sooner or later.
Your info about PIXAIR seems to be correct. In spring time he told me that in autumn he will leave for Thailand since his wife is Thai and they built a house there. Recon we will see some BKK photos from Pixair in the near future.
Gerardo mentioned WEF. Yes, WEF won´t be held at Davos anymore. From now on (with exception of this coming year i think), it will be here in Salzburg, Austria (SZG) which isn´t (by airplane) too far away from Zurich. Crossair flys daily to SZG from ZRH. Otherwise it would take you a (approx.) 6 hour ride by car. It would be nice to have you here at SZG sometime! Maybe i have the opportunity to come over to Zurich for doing some spotting this coming year. If so then it would be nice meeting you.

Don't forget that Geneva's not so far away anymore (although I'd recommend waiting till next summer - the weather here is always lousy). See you soon in sunny (cough!) Switzerland!

Yeah, welcome to sunny (cough) Europe
Anyway, should you find the time & interest, Sion de Valaise shouldn't be far away. IT has an.. interesting.. approach, we should give you some good shots. Oh, and did I mention that it's surrounded by rather HIGH mountains so getting a view from above wouldn't be a problem.

One of the things that I do look forward to is the fact that so many great airports are within driving / flying distance of ZRH. So I have a great new airport to catch photos as well as other airports. I hope to visit with all of you in the near future!

Wow, what a change from SIN to ZRH......
Change is not always easy but who knows what it is good for.
I can relate, my move is only 6 months ago, at first I was not too pleased, still miss Boston a lot, but have found some decent spots in Frankfurt as well when it comes to aviation photography.
Can't wait to see those stunning pictures coming out of ZRH in the future.

Yeah, I know a bit about moving from A to B
I once stayed in Australia for 5 months (I don't know about you, but I still say that the approach to rwy 34L/R at Sydney is one of the finest in the world. Simply, descending off the coast of Sydney passing low enough to see the Opera House, Telstra Tower, the Harbor Bridge and generally most of Sydney before sweeping around and coming in over Botany Bay.. It's stunning, especially at dawn!) and had to move back to Denmark.. VERY different.. I miss Australia (specifically: VB's, Aussie Rules & the Barbies!).
Anyway, I must agree that you will have a lot of interesting airports "within you reach", and most of them are suitable for a one-day tour where you leave in the morning and come home in the evening.. *sigh* if only I had the money to do so!

As I am doing okay and interested that you will like to see my photogprahy on Airliners.net. You were doing great aviation photography in Singapore. That is very far far away from US by 9,000 miles. whoa! It take you by more than like 20 hours flight. What about your wife and she will go with you take in Europe. Well, see ya.

Vasco: You should need to write email to me and why you never responding by the email to me. I need you about ask me something that you were doing in Frankfurt, Germany. See ya.

Hi Andrew
Nice to hear that you will come to Switzerland. Don't forget to bring warm clothes with you. It's cold here, about 0°C and unfortunately too much fog during winter.
About ZRH. There is big construction work all over the airport. The last time, I counted 24 building cranes. So taking pictures is not very easy from all locations.

Goldach? Boy! That's really about an hour away from ZRH. St. Gallen Altenrhein would be closer, but then again, the traffic isn't perhaps the most interesting one

I have Singaporean girl too... So one day I'll make the move there. Well... She asked me to at least. Exchange cold Holland for warm Singapore.. I don't mind that!
But not just yet...
