Hey all,

Apparently there's a Silkway Il-76 leaving EMA at 1800 this evening - I've tried to find out as much as possible but, as normal with EMA, everything's secretive. Did it ever arrive? And is it due to leave on time? I was gonna go out for it but it's a long drive (and a waste of fuel) if it ain't there.

Cheers,

Karl

Karl,

Silkway IL-76 did arrive at EMA today (4K-AZ100). However I have no information to confirm whether its still there and if so when its set to depart.

Hope this helps.

That particular aircraft is one of the two re-engined (General Electric) Il-76 aircraft that exist.

Are you sure Viv? As far as I know the only two re-engined Il-76s are operated by Volga-Dnepr - RA-76950 and 76951.

Yes, I am sure. I have photographed it close-up in Luxembourg. It's an Il-76TD-90VD.

My shot is not great quality, but you can clearly see the engines.

So it is. That makes at least three such examples now then.

Cheers,

Karl
