I'm new at this whole deal of photography.

I just want to get an idea of what the A.net community thinks and what locations (world-wide) give you the best results??? Results i mean aviation pic's.

Much Appreciated guys and gals-

To me, there's no contest.

By far, St. Maartin beats out all the competition.

For me it's Atlanta because it's close to Nashville (my home) and it has some interesting visitors from time to time. Not to mention it is quite busy down there.

I'll have to say LAX. The weather is almost always perfect and the action is always constant, both in frequency and variety.

ATL can be nice if you know the right people who can get you the right access.

The best spot I've encountered is probably the terrace of the Hotel Royal in CFU, Greece, where the shooting is great in the morning (even while having breakfast).

At my local airport, AMS, my favourite spot is the threshold of landing Rwy 18R in the late afternoon/evening. I love the slightly elevated position, the backdrop of the little village, and the piano keys lighting up the bellies. Somehow few people seem to like this spot, perhaps because it involves some walking (or cycling). Some people will even drive from Germany, then stay at the parking lot closer to the 36L end where you'll see little action. Boggles me.

Never been to SXM but for me the top of the parking garage, early morning shooting 1R departures at LAS is the best spotting location. With Dave Budd of course!  biggrin
