Interesting - nice price too, but there are some things I don't like on it, such as the tiny top LCD.

The top LCD is pretty much the same as the Maxxum 9's, if you've seen it - it only shows limited information in large, easy to read numbers/graphics.

The more interesting thing is the 70-400G, which I will be replacing my Bigma with (hopefully).

Looks pretty nice - I like the 100% coverage of the viewfinder.

For anyone with a boxful of Minolta lenses this is the way to go, albeit at a hefty price.

I'd been wondering when they'd come out with some longer lenses. The only really long one I've seen in the Sony book I have is the 500mm F/8 reflex.

I also like the 100% coverage of the viewfinder.  Smile

Consider the following:

Canon 1dsMk3: $8,000.

Sony a900 with Carl Zeiss 24-70, 70-200G, vertical grip, and HVFL58 flash: $7,500

As a medium format replacement, an a900 with Carl Zeiss lenses (like the new 16-35) would be a pretty compelling argument.

There'll be a 400 f/2.8 SSM coming soon enough. Probably PMA.
