Cheers.
I am planning a spotting trip to LHR when days become warmer and I need a small help so that I can book an hotel room in advance with cheaper prices  Big grin
I am familiar with the 27's arrivals and spotting places, but not much with the 09L arrivals and when I was browsing on a.net, I found this photo

So the 1st question is...can I make photos from that road there with the T5 sign or will the police send me away?
The 2nd question is...can I walk (safely) from that place on the photo to the field near the 09 (close to Bath Road) ?
Thanks for the help

If you still need help with a hotel/room, then may I suggest the Heathrow Lodge. It's not brilliant but it's the closest you'll get to 09L; it's only 5 minutes away by foot! That photo you've shown doesn't really give you a clear view of the layout as it is now. There's an inner and an outer perimeter road running round that part of Heathrow and if you stay at the Lodge then you'll be nearest the outer one. You can however make it across to the inner by the access road near the roundabout. The Police shouldn't move you on from the field, however, but around T5 can be sensitive and I wouldn't be surprised if they told you to move on from there. The field, like I said, is fine though. If you like your beer then there's 3 pubs within crawling distance from the Lodge also. I stay there every time just for that reason alone! If they're on the 27s then there's a free bus ride right outside the Lodge basically that will drop you off anywhere around the Northern Perimeter Road and all the way to Hatton Cross if that's better for you.
Here's a shot from the road near the Lodge.....

Hi.
Thanks Spencer for the input. I wasn't aware of that bus (sounds nice) and the main reason why I was asking about that place is quite simple. If the 27's are in use, then it will be quite simple and easy, but with the 09's I was thinking about catching the tube to T5 and then walking to that field or just stay on that roundabout. I presume that using the tube is faster than any bus to arrive to the other side of the airport. I find difficult to get a clear picture of the layout because google earth and maps live images seem not updated as the T5 is still being built so it gets dificult to understand if it is possible to walk from the T5 to the field, but if you say it can be done, then I'll go for it.
Just another question and once again for the 09's, but this time staying in the south side of the airport. I read on spotterswiki about a Tesco supermarket parking lot near Faggs Road for photos like this one

Can anyone confirm that the place is correct?
Once again thanks to everyone

The Tesco site won't get you many shots like Mike's there, you need to get transport out to another location. PM me. The Tesco site gives you a more underneath shot such as this one:

If 09 is un use you must try the top floor of the T5 parking garage. The view is excellent. I was told the place will be fenced of, though some view might still be had one floor down from the top floor. Check my website for somephotos from this spot I shot roughly 3 months ago.

If the 09's are in use you can stand on the footpath on the Stanwell Moor Rd (A3044) just outside the airport perimeter. It runs N/S so whichever runway they are using you can get good landing shots.
