I am hoping someone will be able to answer my question. This past Thursday, a UAL 747-400 had departed for Chicago as UA9968. I assume it was a diversion of some sort. But was wondering if anyone knows where the plane originated and why it was diverted. Information on this flight can be found on Flight Aware: http://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL9968 I am so bummed I missed this chance to see a photograph a UA 744 in Indianapolis as it is a very rare sight!

It's possible that this is the one, at least it seems to be the only "unknown" UA B744 on the 27th November. Probably doing a military flight to/from Germany.
Other 76th Brigade National Guardsmen returned in two separate flights Thanksgiving Day.
The morning flight on Thursday included members of Company A, 1st Battalion, 293rd Infantry based in Warsaw; Company E, 113th based in Fort Wayne; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 151st Infantry based in Jasper; Company D, 1st Battalion, 151st Infantry based in Washington; and Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 150th Field Artillery based in Greencastle.
