Monday December 22nd, LAX should be host to both Qantas A380's for the first time as they arrive late morning.

VH-OQB will be making its first revenue flight on QF93, with VH-OQA flying in as QF11.
One for the LAX spotters to get their cameras out!

I would love to see any photos of this occasion.

Cheers,
Adam

Sweet deal thanks for the update! Unfortunately I won't be home in LA at that time, but do you know if they will both be scheduled same days regularly? I will be home on Dec 29th, and also Jan 5th-10th. I wouldn't mind seeing two at once.

Boilerup! Go Purdue!

Only in LA would it be raining on the arrival day! Thanks for the notice.

Oh, it's a big pretty white plane with red stripes, curtains in the windows and wheels and it looks like a big Tylenol.

Don't worry about the weather this time around, as it seems the 2nd Qantas A380 didn't end up working the flight out of Australia. I'm still seeking confirmation, however I believe QF11 from Sydney was worked by a 747 instead.

QF93 however was worked by an A380 - VH-OQA.

Its a little hard to say exactly when at this stage, but yes both Qantas A380s will be scheduled into LAX on same days regularly.
I'll put it on this message board when I find out.

cheers

Will look for the heads up.

I've heard that QF will be changing their scheduling starting in Jan for the A380 into LAX from the Mon, Wed, Fri they currently have. Is this the case? I cant remember what the new arrival days I was told.

Cheers

There were a bunch of us out there yesterday. It was a cold day but one of the best spotting days of the year. I got there just before the second one came in. It was delayed and arrived around 1130 PST. Unfortunately both arrivals came in on the North runways and straight to the North gates of the TBIT. Most of us were all on the South side hoping for a 25L arrival.

I got some shots but nothing that will be worthy of uploading here as it was a bit too much distance. I caught it smoking its tires on landing but the distance has made the shot just one for the personal collection.

Hi all, last time I will post on this matter:

Just a heads-up for those in the LAX area, both Qantas A380s will be in Los Angeles on Friday Jan 2nd.

OQA departed Melbourne bound for LAX on QF 94
OQB is working QF11 out of Sydney today.

Hope this is of interest to some.

I may have a few more posts left for this thread after all.......

A rare Qantas afternoon-arrival will be taking place today, 3rd Jan at LAX.
QF11 is currenly running just a 'little' bit late, now due into LA at 14:10, instead of its usual 9:50am arrival time.

It also happens to be the first commercial flight for Qantas' 3rd A380 - VHOQC.
Might be worth a look for those who can get there.

-Adam
