So, I'm sort of thinking of going to Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) for a week.

Also planning on spending some time at the airport. What are the good spots?

Also, does $450 round trip Vancouver-Puerto Vallarta and back to Vancouver seem like a correct price?

How is www.kayak.com/www.orbitz.com for booking flights?

thanks

I remember going to Puerto Vallarta about 5 years ago. We stayed at the Mayan Palace at Nuevo Vallarta. From the beach you had some really nice views of departures. Try to find a hotel close to the airport on the beach and you should be fine.

Have fun. Its a nice place!

There's also a really good viewing area from the departure lounge overlooking the apron. You can't get photo's of aircraft at the gates, but when they push back or taxi in, you get good views and the the windows don't have much of a tint.

I had a look around the airport and there aren't many accessible areas to photograph from, apart from the beach. The sun is on the right side there as well. You might be able to find a spot from the golf course adjacent to the airport, but you'll need a long lens. Puerto Vallarta itself is a great place. And you never know what might float past you!

I remember I once stayed at the hotel near the airport (about 15 years ago) and the view was great....

Good Luck!
