Planespotting In Cairo, Egypt?

Does anyone have any recent information of spotting locations please?
And does the new Terminal have viewing facilities by any chance?

I flew from T1 in 2006.

Spotting and photos fine from departure area, (I was in Business). Very large windows and no sticky finger marks.

I do not recall seeing any signs referring to Viewing Facilities.

If you're flying from T1 (the new T3 won't open until later this year), then you go through to departures, up the escalators and you'll find a huge open space (it's better in daylight though). You can planespot to your heart's content there.

Spotting is one thing, but don't be tempted to pull out a camera as this can lead to complications. I know of a company who recently asked the airport's permission to do a shoot there (and the shoot would have benefitted and promoted the airport too) and the request was quickly refused!

Still, this site has just one photo from CAI taken in the last five years.
