Was spotting at the end of the runway this morning and saw what looked like F-RAJB on the North Runway and dock at the CYVR Int'l public gates. Any idea who is here in YVR ? Or its departure date? I'd love to be able to get a photo of it on its rollout.
Didn't get any clear side shots of its landing though a good HD recording of the landing from a bit above and behind it.

'cause it flew right over me, I was so surprised (busy reading the side of the ship and seeing the rondels) that I didn't get its tail #. Telephoto pics from across the runway before it berthed (~1-mi away) doesn't show the tail number clearly (air turbulence).
Landing was ~1014 YVR time.
Definitely A340, and Republique Française + Rondels. Would upload if I could but I'm a newbie w/o upload priv$s

Might have been F-RAJA that flew over the NW of England at 09:12 this morning as CTM1017. Comparing this with flight times for LHR-YVR (arrival +1hr 40 after departure local times) that would have the arrival time at around 10am-10:30am YVR time.

Hmm... I'm wondering which big-wig got to fly in the plane and what they're doing here in YVR. Might be the Minister of Defence, don't expect it'll be the occupant of the Elysee Palace... Would definitely be a good shot to get, especially today when the weather is fair and the sunset might be stunning if they're doing an evening departure. Tomorrow's photo ops are rather more limited and the weather doesn't look like it'll be so cooperative.

Too bad it didn't stick around longer.. there was some beautiful light this afternoon which would have been nice to get it in. Oh well, maybe next time - but thanks for the heads up anyway.
