The first one is slightly backlit and the third one while it is a great shot would probably get rejected for motif because of the fence.

Cheers,
Koryo

Joe,

qualitywise, there isn't much to say, they all look good, though the Embraer looks a tad soft.
The Embraer and Saab shots needs some leveling though; the Embraer needs some serious cw rotation while the Saab needs only a bit cw rotation.
The UPS shot, as nice as it might be will fall for motive due to the blocking fence.

Cheers,

Thierry

I see this pointed out by you a lot. Backlit is not an automatic rejection reason, nor is it always a problem. The first shot is exposed well. The problem is leveling.

Hi Joe,

The second one is slightly oversharpened, and centering is slightly off to the right I think. I'm not sure if it's level, are there any references in your original? Nice shot.

I think the first one won't make it for quality and motive (tug), the third one for motive (fence).

I wasn't saying backlite was a problem just possibly a minor issue.

your EMB145's tail has jaggies. Consider sharpening it.

Motive for the Fence, that's kinda weak suace. But I see what you guys are talking about in the first two.

Thanks,
Joe

Heh...you can get a motive rejection for something as little as a runway sign or a few blades of grass blocking a portion of the landing gear.

Its justifiable reason though, clutter blocking part of the aircraft as minor as it is distracting on the image.

Uh, no, definitely do not sharpen it if there are jaggies. The jaggies Brasilia speaks of are the result of oversharpening. Brasilia, I don't know what you were looking at, but that ERJ doesn't have jaggies. It's all-around soft.

Joe, I *love* your second photo. What a great angle! Just look out for parts of the aircraft that are a little sharp (i.e. the tail).

Best of luck!
