Photo Acceptance - Pre-Screening (cpd)

I can't believe I'm asking for a pre-screen - but I'm a bit confused so here goes.  confused  This is my first photo from the D700, under tricky conditions (warm, hazy, broken cloud):



I just wanted a bit of feedback that this wouldn't be rejected for over-exposed where the sun is reflecting off the windows.

I realise I probably could have had a much smaller aperture here - I had F/7.1 with shutter speed of 1/4000sec and ISO400, more practice/familiarity with the new camera will change that. Next time I'll use lower ISO or smaller aperture (or both if conditions allow).

First of all, I think the aircraft is slightly high in the frame.

And unfortunately, I think that glare on the fuselage might be a problem. Another member dealt with that recently in another thread.

Personally, for me the glare kills it, but I insist this is my personal taste!
Besides that, the aircraft is indeed a bit too high in the frame, and you can certainly 'feel' the high ISO in some areas, thus quality is marginal at best.
I don't think the Virgin A340s are that rare down under, so why not scrap this one and shoot it again with correct settings and a nicer angle?

I got two photos accepted in the DB with reflections on the fuselage, one was a Cathay A330 and the other was the SQ 777. Both had uniform 'glint' running down the fuselage.

I like these kind of photos where the sun lights up the aircraft, but for me editing them is a bit tricky to balance out the glint without overexposing, so I am not going to try many of these in the future..

One thing these two photos have going for them is that the glare doesn't affect the windows. In my opinion, it becomes rather distracting if the window line is obstructed by very bright glare down the fuselage. But that's just me.
