Hi all,

I've seen many a wonderful picture come out of STN recently and wondered if anyone wouldn't mind letting me know where these spots are, since I'll be there next week for the G20 traffic, providing it all doesn't change.

Additionally, can anyone confirm what exactly is coming to STN or is it still unknown? I've been told that the Russian and Saudi stuff is definately heading to STN but I've been given no dates/times.

Thanks in advance,

Karl

A few years since I was down there, but I'd say they are on the N side perimeter fence in the black mark drawn below. You can drive there, park next to the hedge and walk to the fence. Can't remember if you'd need a ladder or whether there are some high spots.

Adam,

Thanks. I have another thread but it's not getting too much attention - how likely are the police to move photographers on this next few days, as the G20 gets underway?

Will we be able to get to the perimeter?

Karl

Hi Karl,

I'm honestly not too sure I'm afraid - with the G20 security may well be stepped up.

However... from what I've heard (I'm no longer a STN local sadly), general relations have been very good with the Police and security in recent times. Maybe another STN regular can confirm?

Hope you have a good visit,
Adam

There is a LOT of police activity on the airport at the moment, I dont believe you will be able to drive into the northside business park from monday unless on business (but i could be mistaken on this) as to the spot marked on google maps i would guess you will be ok there as long as you are following the normal rules....

As Adam has said relations are pretty good there recently, the police where out a while ago giving out there cards and asking to call if you see anything suspicous!!

As to what it will be like next week is anyones guess.

Anything else feel free to ask.

Nick

Pah if you want good photos on Wednesday/Thursday of the G20 summit you need to get down to the city! Sod the aircraft, come cover the protests and riots that will surely take place.  Smile lol

I'm donning the photojournalist hat that day and heading down with a friend to cover the story from that perspective.

Let us know how you get on. I think once Obama and his forty-thousand strong entourage have been and gone things shouldn't be too bad.

Just spent the day around threadneedle street/bank of england/liverpool st/etc and i have to say it was intense.

Managed to get right into the thick of the action and got a good amount of decent pics, 2 of which are being printed in a daily tomorrow.  Silly

My perception on the day..... the majority of people protesting were the "have not's" of live who were there to cause trouble because they can, scream and shout as it's something to do.

Out of everyone there it was the hardcore french anarchists that did the majority of the damage to RBS and the other associated buildings.

Will post images soon,

Chris
