A different case but I found this one funny when I was uploading the shot, keeping in mind that it's almost 19 years ago  Smile

Theses are the only 2 shots of this plane in the database, both made during the same landing. While I chose to shoot it during approach Jetpix decided to take the not so well known spot at the touchdown zone.

I wondering very much who this man is, I sure must have met him back in those days since we have several similar shots in the database... .

My shot is the close up.
Although I did notice that I had put the wrong date in when I uploaded the shot - I have sent a correction email to the editors.

During most spotterdays, open houses, TLP's, we tend to take very similar shots of the participating aircraft. I was surprised that this preserved aircraft - seen during the Ocean Tiger Meet - was only uploaded by one other photographer:

Likewise. Mark and I were just marveling at how there are only two photos of this aircraft in the database:

You'd think an SR-71 at the USAF museum would have attracted more than two A.net photographers!

Just have a look at Manchster on 14/05/08 and 21/05/08 (UEFA Cup Final and Champions League day) and you'll see loads of examples of aircraft taken from different angles within seconds of each other. A few examples:

I suspect it has attracted more, but also attracted a few motive rejections due to other people in the museum wandering into the frame.

Indeed! I was there in 2004 (trying out my first digital SLR), but I do not recall this opportunity (very nice angle for this shot!!!), lighting was very poor and lots of my shots turned out dark and/or grainy  Sad It might not have been - as the title of this thread suggests - "the right moment" for me? Maybe I should have another look at them...or go back for another visit, sometime...

Best regards,

Walter

Here's a couple from a few years back. It seems Frank and I were at the airport and unaware of each others location. I was sitting at the Rwy 25 approach and he was on the top level of a car park a few hundred metres away taking his beloved side on shots!

And another three from totally different perspectives. I was on the flight deck, Frank was down the back and my good friend Anton just happened to grab a picture of our flight departing.

Airshows are a pretty common source of dupes. Take this recent pair for example:

Same aircraft, same time and almost exactly the same spot. The difference is that Andrei was standing in the photographers' enclosure with the hoi-polloi whilst I was on the balcony of the Flying Ops Centre.

In fact, this is how I got to know George Canciani: from our photos on a.net I worked out that we must have been standing pretty close to one another at a couple of airshows!

Ryan Hemmings and I have been shooting together for 20 odd years, so the choice could've been just about anything from the pair of us. Here's a nice comparison though, same movement but caught slightly differently.
