Currently it's the only image of this aircraft in this new scheme on A.net. The email request came from their marketing department, which tells me that my image would be used to make money!
Any ideas what I should do as in the past I've tended to well under-sell myself in these situations?

First ask them what they want to use it for. The fact that it's from the marketing department doesn't mean they'll use it in ads (although that is a possibility) and it could also be used internally in the company.

For airlines I tend to ask for less money but for something else in return, tickets, access to their facilities, stuff like that.

Thanks guys. I have politely asked them what they intend to use the image for and am awaiting a response. What should I do if they don't want to use it for marketing (making a profit)? Also, would it be unreasonable for me to ask for a return air ticket to Gothenburg or something?

No, in fact this will enhance your chances of getting the sale! Ask for two RT tickets for you and your partner, they won't say no.

Karl - look at this from their point of view - they get what they want, your image, with an out of pocket expense of zero.
I don't know much about this airline, but I am willing to bet their planes go out less than full. Even if they do go out full, you would be in with a shout.
This is a perfect chance for you to go somewhere you might not otherwise have gone, and you will add a client to your portfolio.
