Hello I'm wondering if someone could offer me a little advice, I have had a request for the use of my one and only photo on here by someone for use in the "The Log" The magazine of the British Airline Pilots Association, Anyway they have said in the e-mail that they do not have a budget but that they will credit me with the picture and send me a copy of it!
They have requested a hi - res version of it......
I have read on here of a few people trying it on to get photos in hi - res, Is "The Log" something any of you guys have heard of?
It would be really amazing to see my picture in print.....If someone just wanted a copy I would gladly let them have it! I don't really want any money for it, Just don't want to be conned for something that could just be asked for!

Nick, 2 months ago a guy named Baz emailed me requesting to use one of my photos for an internal British Airways Flight Ops magazine. Sounds very similar to your request, he said he would send me a copy in the mail, give me credit, etc. He did not ask for a high resolution version though.
I said yes, and he simply took the photo straigh off Anet, and 2 months later I got the magazine in the mail! Was a pretty cool feeling. Gave me credit on the lower right, as well as Anet.
Before this, I have denied people that wanted a high res shot, because there is a little work involved re-editing, etc. However, I almost wish I sent this guy a high res shot because the image in the magazine is not as clear as the photo really is. But then again, I'm not getting paid, so this was a win / win for me, photo in the mag and I didn't have to send out a high res shot, he took the 1024 right off Anet. Plus, I'm aware that professional photogs do this for a living, so personally I try not to give out high res shots for free that others have to charge for, since I don't do this for a living. But a low res shot, that could really be used without me even knowing, what the heck.
Check out the link for a pic of the magazine. There were several other Anet photogs in there as well.

Ron Lovely picture there and a great use of it as well, To be honest I'm not really sure what a high res copy is does he mean an edited version of the original but without changing the resolution, I t would be 3200 x 2400 (or whatever size it is) Like I say this as all completely new to me.

I supply images to the same person and send images at 1600 pixel resolution which they have been happy with.
You may find that after supplying them they will start paying you for other images
