Just wondering if someone could give me a little help i'm going to be in the city for a few hours in the morning from about 8am until 11am so thought I would go down to LCY for some pictures. So wondered if anyone has some good advice of where to go this time of the day, I will be arriving at the airport on the DLR so within reasonable distance walking from there would be great. I did search the forum and google it but could not really find any "ideal" spot for this time of day.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nick

Hello there.

Ive been to London City multiple times, and there is one really good place I'd recommend.

If you take the DLR to Royal Albert station, then you will come out opposite the runway.

Shots like this can be taken:

This is really the only place ive been at LCY, so be sure to have a look at www.spotterswiki.com for some more suggestions.

I am fairly certain that the photo you linked to is not from the spot near the Royal Albert dock. The Royal Albert dock spot is on the other side of the runway.

Since you will be there in the morning you'd better not go to the Royal Albert dock. You'd be facing the sun. Instead just go to the terminal and walk into the parking lot. At the end of the parking lot you got a view over the runway. In fact, the photo linked to above seems to have been taken from there.

Oooops!

Sorry my mistake, i copied across the wrong picture.

But if you go to Royal Albert dock, you will get the same result except from the opposite side  Wink
