We've come across an apparently rare error on our new Canon 50D - Error 30 which occurs regularly after shooting a few exposures in a row.
The Canon helpline wasn't of much help so far and a Google search didn't help either. If possible, we'd like to avoid sending it in if it's solvable with a firmware update or the like.
Perhaps anyone has experienced something similar?

Nope, no error 30 and I have been shooting with my 50D for 7 months now. Had some Error99 in the beginning but upgrading the firmware took care of that.
Have you searched DP-review? What I have found is that Error 30 is shutter related and that the newest fimware shows that, before all errors were 99 basically.
