Does anybody have info on the departures and arrivals of the NWA cargo 747-200's at LAX as they are going to be retired in less than a year and I really want to take pics of one. When is there the best light to take pictures of them sunset departures, dusk landings etc....

Thanks in Advance,

Koryo

Koryo - I believe they come in and depart at night.

Flight 906 and 907 are the ones you want.

Get 'em while you can - I believe I saw a few of them out in the desert at Marana a few weeks ago.

John is right. They are really starting to become as rare as their passenger counterparts.

Yeah them being rare and not having any pics of one is pretty much my reason for wanting to see them... As I was looking in the database I saw that there was some of photos of daytime departures (lots like around midday) : http://www.airliners.net/photo/North...d=53763c87ba15cbb1f43e7e476002750e

Does anyone know the flight # of this one?

Thanks

Koryo

That photograph was taken four years ago, chances are that flight no longer exists with 742F's with the amount of them that are left.

Damn fine reason if you ask me!! Honestly, that would be reason enough. Good luck and I really hope you get what you are looking for. I know I finally have!

I stumbled upon the bowling shoe 742 (N623US) at ELP while waiting on my rental car. That completed the collection for me. Hopefully you'll have the same amount of luck as I did.

Well hopefully  Smile ...but for good o'l bowling shoe I've had four shots at getting him and either the camera, weather, or just luck never cooperated and time is running out in both cases....
