I've planned to visit Sanicole this year, interesting line up.
But what is it like in terms of crowdedness etc.
And who else is going ?
A friend of Sanicole ticket seems to be the best option ?

Cheers,
Willem

Hi Willem,

If I remember well, that show is badly backlit. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Indeed, all displays are between you and the sun, so backlit as can be  Smile

But you are always close to the action at Sanicole (Leopoldsburg) and sometimes, at the right moment, some very nice pictures can be made:

Well let's hope for a cloudy day then.  Smile

I might go there, but I am not sure yet. I will first try to spend some time at the Nato Tiger Meet at KB the days before the Sanicole show, after that, there will be a further negotiation with the wife  Smile

A lot of the participants will operate out of KB, so that is also an interesting option!

Walter

I was aware of that but I don't want to make the trip twice in 4 days.

I will re-think this option.

Hey guys,

I'll defintely be at KB for the Tigermeet (except if it starts to piss from the sky).
Sanicole was not on my schedule but seeing the list of participants I changed my mind; just that now I've to pray for a good schedule which gives me the day off...

So see you guys there!  Smile

Thierry

I'll be at the Tiger Meet Spotter's Day at KB on the 18th, most likely the Sanicole practice day on the 19th. Will probably go back out to KB on the 20th to photograph the aircraft staging from KB for the Sanicole show.

Anybody know of a good place to stay nearby?

There are several good places to stay, but I would suggest to hurry with making reservations, because there will not be many rooms left (in the neighborhood) during the period of the NTM.

This is a site, which I have used myself to make on line reservations (with good results):

http://www.booking.com/ (type in "Peer" as location, or "Hasselt", if you prefer a larger city, and then you get to see the available hotels within a certain radius).

If you need more advise, drop me an e-mail or PM.

Best regards,

Walter

Hi!

I just bought the tickets for both the Tiger Meet and Sanicole!  bigthumbsup
Where can I find some information on the rehearsals on Saturday? At what time will the gates open?

Will the Vulcan make "only" a fly-by or will it also be on static display?
I'm not even sure if it can land on Sanicole... perhaps at KB...

Best regards,
Fabrizio

I am not sure whether there are rehearsals on Saturday... I assume that most participants (certainly the jets) will do their rehearsals during the spottersday at KB on the friday. Sanicole airfield is very close to KB (from some locations at KB you can see the aircraft when they are flying above Sanicole).

For the spottersday at KB, the gates will also open at 08.00 (but expect already a large queue by that time...)

Best regards,

Walter

I bought tickets for 3 days to include the Tiger Meet (which is also supposed to be arrivals day for Sanicole participants), the practice day @ Sanicole, as well as the airshow day. I'm thinking of attending the practice day just to avoid the larger crowds, and then staying around KB on the actual airshow day to photograph the participants that will be staging from there.

Walter, thank you for the link.

If anyone is looking for a combi ticket for the Tiger Meet + Sanicole Airshow, I do have an extra one.
