Hi all,

What kind of aircraft do you most like to get shots of? And if you have personal albums or regularly view others' what do you like to see?

Do you like logo-jets or maybe retro-jets? Or do you simply collect anything with a particular scheme? Or perhaps you love looking at one type of airliner/aircraft in particular, e.g. A380? Or do you love and collect shots from you local?

My favourites are logo and retro-jets - in fact anything with a special, promotional or celebratory scheme. I chase them whenever I can and love looking at all the different ones. I have my own small album with all my own shots of retro-jets. A few missing but overall I think I'm doing well!

I also love anything Russian - fabulous aircraft with so much more character than Boeings and Airbuses.

If I had to have a favourite type to build a collection with it would have to be the TriStar, DC-10/MD-11 or Tu-154.

Hit me and show us your favourite images/albums.....

Karl

I like photographing A330/A380, Oneworld colour schemes, and the Qantas special colour schemes (eg, Wunala Dreaming, Yananyi Dreaming, Socceroos).  Smile Sadly, Nalanji Dreaming is no more.  Sad

I also like photographing the RF-111C / F-111C / F-111G when I get the chance, it's one of my personal favourite planes.

I see a steady stream of MD-11's, so I don't tend to photograph them much.

My absolute #1 was the A340, maybe because it was the first all new plane to come out after I started spotting airliners. Then again, the MD11 came out a bit earlier but that was just an updated version of the very common DC10 and of course, the A340 beats the MD11 aesthetically, hands down. Especially the A340 wing and nose were things of unseen beauty. During all my years of spotting on sunny days, I don't think I ever let an A340 pass without shooting it.

Apart from my own shooting, in slide trading the A330/A340 always was top priority, for the first 100 or 150 frames, completeness was very close if you don't take the F-WWXX regs into account. And so beating A.net since a few important ones are still missing here.

My number one is definitely the "one-o-four":

A close number two is the F-4 Phantom:

I like to see "oldies", contributions by other photographers:

I also love the shots taken at Axalp:

checkmark  So do I, also Russian fighters look awesome. Unfortunately, the chances of seeing them around here are very low  Sad I should be able to find some old slides (from Le Bourget and/or Farnborough), so I urgently need some spare time to start searching (and scanning)  Smile

Best regards,

Walter

I waited nearly all Summer to catch a glimpse of F1 A340-600 of Etihad, clouds cover came over as it arrived but still caught him! Big grin Now they have more A340-600s now it looks less likely it will come again before its repainted and comes on a weekend date.
