After the amount of rubbish flying around about this camera ive read over the last three weeks its actually nice to see a solid review in controlled circumstance.
Im still not a fan of 100% view comparisons of differing MP cameras but even given its APS-c the 7D performs amazingly well in the review knocking off the D300S in every department its direct competition...mind you both cameras produce amazing results but finally all the crap about more MP being a hurdle has finally bitten the dust.
In every area more MP for the 7D results in more per pixel detail than both the 50D and D300s.
Given it has at the moment more cross type sensors than ANY other camera on the market including the 1Dmk3 D3 D3s etc its AF is already winning a lot of fans.
Nice camera..

This is also a thorough review, and an interesting read. http://rolandlim.wordpress.com/2009/11/06/canon-eos-7d-review/
Not quite as positive as DPR, but still very positive overall. Looking at the shots comparing the 7D with the 5DII, it does look like the 7D lacks in micro contrast as the edges are not nearly as defined. But he does go on to say that the 7D samples by themselves are still fantastic.

Comparing the D300s and 7D is a little pointless. Why not compare with D700 ? I understand that both are very new models, but have one significant difference.

Given that at the moment ACR has only a prototype RAW converter for the 7D and Canons DPP is only a good to average RAW converter it will be interesting to see what we get when ACR is fully updated.
Also C1 do excellent Canon RAW conversions compared to DPP so all in all its all very positive for the 7D.
