I have just had cause to look into my profile page and noticed that it ishows it is exactly 5 years ago that I became a member at A.net.
I have been involved in a few 'tension-provoking' threads just recently, so wanted to use this as an excuse to post something completely different.
It feels a long time ago when I was wet behind the ears with digital editing, site rules and the like. There have been many ups and downs for the site in those 5 years but I am still here, and I always look to see what is going on at my favourite internet site when I switch the computer on. Although many have come and gone, I have formed lasting relationships with a number of people across the globe - surely the best feature of this site. I may moan about many things, but not the facility to be introduced to so many people through the shared interest of aviation photography.
My genuine thanks to all who have taken time to correspond with me in that time and offer their help, support and encouragement. Also a special thanks to all the guys who put in so much of their free time to keep things ticking over here.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW HEAD SUPPORT
congratulations on that different milestone!
You are surely right when you say that the relationships resulting from the community on this site are its best feature and though we've still never met in person (although that one time at MAN was pretty close ) I consider you as a friend and it's always a pleasure to exchange thoughts and ideas with you.

Your threads are what still makes this forum worthwhile even after I have asked all the questions and got all the answers about fixing rejected photos I cared to .
Seriously, just look at the "Respected by" section in your profile. That is yet another achievement, in my eyes - a lot more valuable than thousands of pictures in the DB, lots of hits and praising comments.

Hmmm. I can't help but think I've become your protege when it comes to constructing long and provoking threads........
Still, joking aside such threads are often remembered; whether that be for good, bad or otherwise! Furthermore, many have indirectly (and sometimes directly) resulted in beneficial changes here, and will remain forever etched in so many minds.
Anyway, happy 'A.net' birthday Paul! I was a paying member (and subsequently a forum regular) here way before I started uploading, and I'm sure many will remember my infamous and controversial 'balls of steel' entrance, LOL! Actually, it can't be far off five years since I first appeared on the scene, although back then I mainly browsed and had little interaction with the site.
P.S. Can't you just tell I've been away for over a week??!!? Bet it's been real peaceful without me!!!!
