PHOTO SCREENER

It is with great sadness that I let the community know that our friend, Erick Lopez (777MechSys) has passed away, at the age of 33.

Erick was an amazing photographer and my best friend, the closest thing I ever had to a brother. As a fellow member of the screening team, Erick found great joy in experiencing photographers and photographs from all around the world. We often privately shared the shots that we considered to be "Sierra Hotel," and the skill that was needed to capture such images.

Please take a few moments to view some of his photos - and to remember a happier time

Erick passed away with his family and friends at his side. I pray that his wife Aimie and his parents, Jama and Felix, can find solace that Erick is now in a better place.

May your skies be cloudless and the sun at your back. Goodbye Erick. See you on the other side.

Royal,

Sorry to hear about this. My sincere condolences to you and Erick's family and friends.

I spent some time having a good look through his collection of shots that are here. A nice, varied selection of different types and themes, well crafted and with a wicked sense of humour in many of the comments. However, I found this comment, below a T-33 at night, particulary moving:

"It's not just about taking pictures at night. It's about spending time with your best friend while taking photos at night."

Sounds like a great guy to have known.

Clear Skies, Erick!

Best regards,

Jim
