Hi everybody,

I have been spotting/shooting pictures around LAX for a few years, but I have always wondered where some of the photos on this site were taken. Could anybody tell me exactly where these photos were taken?

On an airplane, from terminal, one could be from www.flightpath.us.

China Airlines photo

Taken on top of the parking garage (the international one). You have to be discreet since you can get kicked out if the airport police or pedestrians see you.

Delta photo

Taken at a cargo lot parking near FedEx. I used to go there from 2003-2004 with no problems but now the police will kick you out since you need a permit to park there since its for the workers. I only go there if I want to take one photo.

Qantas A380 (hunt)

Taken from inside of terminal 1. You need to be a ticked passenger. (fly southwest or us airways if you want to take photos like those.

The first Qantas 380 photo looks like it may have been taken from the Radisson.

The night shot was taken from the Tom Bradley International parking area roof level. I have been up there several times, and it is hit or miss with the police. One time a friend and I were swarmed by 6 of LAPD's finest. The next time I was up there I spoke with an LAPD motorcycle officer and he had no problem with me being up there. When I go up there I have my gear ready to go in the car, camera and lens mounted to the tripod. When the pushback starts I get out take the shot and get back in the car. That is being as discreet as can be. If you set up and just stand around you have a good chance of being reported. This is such a fantastic spot it is hard to believe it until you are up there. But for shots like these it is well worth taking a chance of being asked to leave!
