You beat me to it Fyodor!
Andrei: Congatulations on a well-deserved 2,000! You have a terrific portfolio and, as you know, we both share a passion for recording the 'little blokes'. What a fitting shot you chose for your 2,000th too.

Many thanks to everyone!
Back in 2006, 3 years and 10 month ago, I uploaded several shots of a Curtiss Robin J-1. I just wanted to share the photos of that rare and legendary airplane. Surprisingly, one of them got accepted, and that was it - I was hooked ever since. I never thought then that I would ever make it even to a hundred shots in the DB .
Over these years, I've had great time on Airliners.net day in and day out, browsing its treasures and sharing my own photos. Most importantly, I've met many interesting people and made some very good friends here. It's the people behind the scenes that make this site number 1 in aviation photography - photographers, screeners, the crew, each and every one in the Airliners.net community.
Thank you guys for your encouragement, for lending a hand when I needed help, and for your kind words today.

Quoting Cpd (Reply 14): My favourite is the HARS Connie
Mine too . It was in the 'Top 15' in the Photographer's Choice for several days, but unfortunately never made it to the top - competition must have been too strong.
Quoting JensOBreuer (Reply 15): "The Real Treasure of Airliners.net" threats - a real pleasure to look at every day!
I'll keep going with that thread for a while yet - judging by the number of hits, it seems to be fairly popular. In the beginning, I only wanted to post about a hundred or so photographers from my bookmarks, but I find new (as well as forgotten old) ones every day now. It gives me the chance to have a better look at the database, too. As a photographer, I was sometimes too busy with our own photos - spotting, editing, uploading, dealing with rejections, re-editing, re-uploading - to have a good look at the work by others. I'm trying to catch up now .
