I remember that there was a resting&viewing area in T1 in MAN (or maybe T3). That was a really fun place for viewing planes even you are not a passnger, it also has the Burger King and some cofe shops...However, I went to MAN yesterday but just can't find the place. Inside the terminals seems different than before.
Does anyone know where the area is? Is it no longer exist or just allowed for checked in passngers?

I remember an area like that well - I used to take my daughter there when she was young (must be 9 or so years ago now, as there were places for kids to crayon and have a drink, which allowed the occasional Dad an opportunity to watch the planes. In an area between Terminals 3 and 1 I think.
Those days of non-passengers having a cup of coffee and viewing the action seem long gone. But, as Karl says, even as a passenger things have changed a great deal. You do get good views of the apron as a passenger from Terminal 1, and photos are possible through the glass.

I used to love travelling through T1, walking down the slope from the check-in area with the massive chandeliers and the huge windows overlooking the apron between piers A and B (that's where you were thinking of YWZHOU). How much difference a couple of years can make. I suppose those that used T1 as a viewing area may have been a problem for some, but I knew quite a few that would stop off at T1 to have a drink and something to eat and watch the movements from the warmth and never did anyone any harm, but no can do now. T1 is just another airport terminal now, also known as a shopping centre doubling up as an airport. I know the retail side of things is needed for the airport to remain viable, but the days of MAN being a part of the excitement of flying somewhere are long gone for me. Travelling though Blackpool excites me more than MAN as it's so simple and relaxing! I'll be going through T2 in a couple of weeks (off to play with sharks in Egypt!) and hope to grab a few photos through the glass at the gates and avoid the duty free shops like the plague! If you see in the press about someone being apprehended for a strange looking metal tube in their baggage (SePro SP5 marine video housing / camera), that'll be me. I got pulled by security coming through Antigua back to MAN the last time I travelled with it and had to explain what a strange looking 3/4" thick metal tube full of electronics was doing in my bag!

Thank you guys! Farewell the 'holly' place...
Ha ha : ) I do remember a old couple watched planes there. The old man listening to the ATC radio while the old lady recording each flight's details on a notebook...
