Hi all -

I've got a few great pictures that I've taken and would like to get some of them up here. The problem is, They range from 3.X - 6.X MB apiece, and the limit here is 1MB (AFAIK)

Any advice on how to downsize the pix without sacrificing too much quality?

Thanks.

What kind of editing software are you using? There's usually a function that allows you to downsize, and that will bring the file size down as well. There aren't many 1024pix photos that will be over 1mb.

As Dana mentioned, you need to resize the image to 1024px (on the long side). This will get your file size down below the 1Mb size.

Two other tips:

- You should read the Photoshop Editing Guide (even if you don't use PS, you can still see the necessary steps to successful editing)
- Post your edited picture in the Photography Feedback Forum. The feedback can be really helpful and increases your chances to get your pictures accepted here.
