Hi all--

Just curious to know how it is some photos can be in the photo queue for so long while for the new uploads, it is quite obvious the photos were uploaded the night before? (And the photogs were not necessarily before me in the line)

I know, patience is a virtue. I've just never had to wait as long.

Bonjour Chef!

2 methods:

The screeners can mark a photo as 'High Quality' and then if three of them agree then it gets added straight away without waiting in the Q [where yours are] for Johan to look at.

The photos were submitted by a screener in which case they're looked at personally by Johan and bypass the Q totally. [Apologies to the screeners et al if this isn't the case].

I've gotten 1 or 2 photos that passed without Johan having to screen it, but I still have a good 6 that have been waiting at least a month? I think once he comes back from vacation/taking a break, things will move much quicker.

Im not really a complainer but all my uploads for the last 4 months or so have all been uploaded within 2 days or so as "high quality". I just got back from europe and sent in some shots that i really think are badass, better than some earlier ones of mine which were marked "HQ" and yet every single one of them are sitting in the queue scratching themselves... (i'm a tasteful one, eh?)

just my quip

had one accepted as HQ a few days ago, christmas present from the screeners (thanks guys  Big thumbs up). 15 or so others are still waiting, some have been there since mid september (so going on 4 months now).

I'm all about the HQ screening. I would, however, also be a fan of the old way of first-come-first-serve for the non-HQ photos. Sure, HQ photos get added right away. But then for the regular photos, if there was someway for them to be added on a consistent basis, I think that may add an aspect of efficiency.

I am not implying that a.net disrespects people and I say this with all my own respect: I think it is only a matter of respect that people's photos in the non-HQ line get looked at in a timely fashion. That's all from my end.

Chris - I think the HQ line is taking a little longer at the minute. I have three shots that I submitted on the 24th that I think are better than some of my previous HQ uploaded shots. Im still waiting.
Either that or they aren't as good as I think they are and they've been "dumped" in the regular queue Big grin
