Hi everybody, this is just to inform you that a special Alitalia flight has been arranged by the Italian FIGC to bring the Italian football team to JNB for the World Cup, so we'll have the rare chance to see an AZ bird back in South Africa after years of absence as the FCO-JNB route was closed a few yeras ago. Should anybody be in the nearbies please try to take pics

Many thanks
*Flavio*

I saw the team arriving on TV but the footage only showed the plane nose-on as it stopped, looked like a big twin. Sorry I didn't get out to take pics but I missed the LH380 landing AND didn't get to see Travolta's 707 so it hasn't been a good week for spotting, damned work getting in the way.

After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Don't worry andz, I didn't know that AZ is the official airline of the Italian team, so there's a large coverage of pics and videos here about the trips. Indeed, the a/c you saw on TV is I-DISA, the first of our B777!
