I've been after a good shot of one of these for years now and have never quite been in the right place at the right time. Every time I go to EMA (which is pretty often) they never show, though I know they do visit occasionally. CVT I imagine would be good but I don't know the spots very well and have no idea what sort of times they appear there. Any chance of ramp access for a deck shot at CVT?

CVT has been unlicenced since last December and I have Googled and found that it has just been re-licenced a couple of days ago, but on a very restricted basis.
I strongly suspect that it will be a waste of time for other than light aircraft.
Did find that there is a large scale fly-in for support for the airfield on 26th Sept......

Thanks chaps. Have already booked a ticket for September 26th's fly-in. Was hoping to catch one on the deck as I assume maintenance and other ground work is still done on the fleet at CVT?
BOH is a little too far, even for an aircraft as historic as the Electra! Does anyone know roughly when they fly into BHX and EMA? I know these are two airports they frequent but catching them is proving a nightmare for me!

No Electras scheduled into EMA - when they do turn up, they're either subbing for an ATP or working an ad-hoc. They have been coming and going from/to CVT even when unlicenced - though not operating revenue flights, just positioning in and out for MX.
