Just lost about $240 in sales on this one- and im not upset at all because I know what the slides are worth to this company- nice people, but the $ aint there for the usage required. I told them to keep looking around as they may get some freebies somewhere, but not from me. read on......

Joe
I'm afraid that it is a little expensive for us. We can pay as much as
we
paid for photos we bought from AP, that is $80 for a photo.
Have a nice weekend.

I had an exchange last week with the new Universal Airlines from Guyana (read below). Knowing their a band new airline I practically offered them the photo for nothing.... just $75 and they didn't reply.
But that's OK, no freebies here either....

Airliners.net indicates permission needed from photographer to utilize photo other than personally. Though not sure if required in this case (did Universal provide approval for photo?), would appreciate your approval to utilize photo id=208758 on our website www.universalguyana.com.

btw- here's another wiseguy response i recently got. this guy took my pics from ainet- put em on his ebay sales site- an ainet member alerted me- i told this guy to get the damn pictures off asap- after a bit of back and forth (he was friendly about it and apologetic but never apologized that he used the photos illegaly hoping he wouldnt be found) here's what he finally wrote me which i thought was a real wiseass reply embedded in a professional sounding email:

Dear Mr Pries,
Thank you for your attention and response to this matter. I will see to it that I never infringe on copyrights regarding your artwork. To further assure that I do not do this with you or others, I have initiated the process of contacting multiple airlines's legal departments to obtain the list
of authorized individuals , business and institutions cleared to take , process and commercialize pictures and artwork related to their airlines.
Once this is cleared, then I will act accordingly. I will also review e-commerce laws, public domain and copyrighs pertaining rights and duties.

perhaps eggd- but more than that he's trying to agitate me by saying he'll call the airlines and find out who can and who cannot take photos of their airplanes- meaning that perhaps they'll say to him that I or you cannot take a photo of their airplane and then sell it to someone. Needless to say I ended the discussion after that b.s. email he sent me.

Well, whatever he attempts to achieve, he is a jackass who can't do it for himself, either because he is to lazy or is simply not good enough, people like that spoil it for everyone else and waste our time!
