I need a little advice on the Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DGX 1.4x Nikon AF. I have the Nikon D5000 and my main lens I use is the Nikon AF-S 300mm F4 (prime) I would like to add a tele-converter for use with this lens and camera and I was wanting to try and find out if my 300mm F4 will still auto-focus with the Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DGX 1.4x ? I have considered the Nikon alternative 1.4x, but my budget is a little tight and I dont think I can spend the extra amount.

The combo works great together. AF is still reasonably fast and the results are still pretty sharp. You will notice a slight drop in quality in the summer months though, when the air is hotter and more humid.
This shot was taken with the combo in 100+ degree heat out in the desert, most of my shots from this trip were with the combo so feel free to have a look at them if you want to see a few more examples.

You can also buy a 1.7 Soligor, working fine as well same factory as the Kenko, quality is great, most of my pictures are made with combi 300 F4 and Soligor 1.7, I also owe a 1.4 Kenko but it is most of the time in my camerabag.
