This weekend I am going to the American Airlines C.R. Smith museum. I am an amateur photographer who still hasn't got a picture accepted in airliners.net, so I was wondering if I will get an airliners.net quality picture from the outside of the museum of planes landing/departing out to DFW. Is this possible, or should I get closer to the airport?

If you have some time in the afternoon, try and give Founder's Plaza a shot. The aircraft will fly right past you on landing, and DFW is normally quite busy. Although you may want to prepare yourself to see a LOT of MD-80's. However, if you are like me, and actually like AA MD-80's, then you should enjoy it
Here are a few that I caught in just a few minutes at Founder's Plaza.
Just beware of the heat haze (don't try to shoot anything that is taxiing or that has passed you and is flaring for landing). Enjoy the museum, and hope you get some good shots!

If that bothers you, and you like aviation in general, maybe try a general aviation airfield near you. Circumstances are often much easier than at major airports (and inside museums). I guess that's true in the USA as well.

Yes, but it's just a plaque.
If you want arriving shots at Founder's you're out of luck for the next month or so. 18L is closed for construction, so pretty much all activity on 18R is departing. Not worth the 100+ degree heat IMO.

While most arrivals on the founders side are now being channeled into the other runways (17s and 13R), most of the European arrivals still seem to predominantly get 18R. So while it may not be worth it for most people who are local, if you are visiting and have time between 2 and 4, it might still be worth a go in spite of the 100+ temps. Qantas also gets this runway almost all the time - Arrival is between 12:50 and 2 normally (if you are lucky a delayed arrival with the Wanula scheme will make the 100+ outing well worth it).

I am new to the area, so I am not sure when this construction work began, but the photos I posted were from a two hour period that I spent at founder's earlier this week, and watched upwards of 20ish aircraft land on 18R...So I guess they can throw 'em any which way.

Very true, 90% of activity was taking off from 18R. Only a Sun Country 737 landed on it. It was still worth it, since I got some pictures of a KLM A332 departing. I was about 5 minutes late for Qantas flight 7, but I got some pictures of it while driving there. And no, sadly it wasn't the wunala scheme.
Also, I am a very amateur photographer (who has tried 11 times to get a photo on a.net, none of which have been accepted), so I would very much appreciate some feedback on my photos that I just uploaded.
